Mep award ceremony 2012
On September 25 the presentation of the MEP Awards, hosted by Maros Sefcovic, European Commission vice-president for Interinstitutional Relations and Administration, took place in Brussels.
The originator of the awards is the Parliament Magazine, a magazine with the latest European news, politics, analysis and comment from the European Parliament and EU institutions from the Parliament. The magazine is distributed to all MEP’s. In order to give more publicity to Fibromyalgia, we as ENFA, were one of the sponsors of the awards. Because of this we were present at the ceremony and presented the award for Justice and Civil Liberties in the EU Parliament to the winner, the Romanian MEP, Mrs Monica Macovei. As Romanian Minister of Justice she reformed the judicial system in Romania and as a member of the parliament’s justice and civil liberties committee she fought for anti-corruption and civil liberties at EU level. The ceremony was attended by about 400 guests. After the ceremony we had some interesting talks. For ENFA it was an important opportunity to present information about Fibromyalgia at the ceremony and also by an advertorial in th Parliament Magazine and by means of our leaflets in the goody bags of the guests and display of our booklets.
Besides this event an online survey for ENFA was sent to every MEP, prepared by Parliament Magazine Polling. It shows the European Parliament views on the EU’s responsibilities around Fibromyalgia. The survey took place during the period 11th June – 17th July 2012.
The results were quite interesting. For more details click here.
